Urban farming project which would be located in the main avenue in downtown Plymouth leading to the Lido pool. Inspired by the Incredible Edible movement, their objective is to reconnect people with nature and promote a healthier lifestyle by having fruits and veggies grown by and for the Plymouthians, the local restaurants will also have the opportunity to buy the fresh fruits and veggies to promote the circular and sustainable economy.

LE KIT DU DESIGNER

The “Designer’s kit” is made up of several tools organized in the form of fun activities that encourage creation. As for the other proposals, it requires a mediator who is provided with a booklet in which the different notions discussed during the workshop are synthesized: design and open design, the design thinking method and fab labs. A synthetic video on design can also be used. The course of the session is always intended for the mediator.

Créanium is a playful activity to discover the method of creation specific to design. In itself, Créanium is a board game in the form of a cube. It involves four players and a supervisor. Ocean Craft aims at creating simpler solutions to tackle the world’s recycling problems, with a main focus placed on plastic pollution in our oceans. The Ocean Craft project consist on smart plastic bins that could be displayed in rural and urban spaces with the ability to sort the different type of plastic, send it directly to companies in the area that will be giving it a second life. As a result, the product will be developing a circular economy model where companies use plastic waste as their raw material and citizen will be paid to take care of the environment.

The Plot is an urban farming project. The Plot has a garden where everyone is welcome to grow fruits and veggies and it also has a cafe with different DIY workshops organised every day. The Envirosteel Project consist in replacing plastic use by steel use. Steel would be a great alternative for plastic since it contain less chemicals and can last way longer than plastic which is single used most of the time. The envirosteel project aims at advising organisations and citizen on how to switch from plastic use to steel use, at home and at the workplace, promoting a healthier and eco friendly lifestyle.

The prototype consists of creating a cigarette case where the tobacco is stored with a deposit for cigarette butts. Is a street art project combinated with educational resources to raise awareness around youth unemployability rates. The idea is to have 3 large standing sheets with 3 projectors projecting on each one. On each sheet there will be a person talking further about how they got to where they are now with information on local services to boost employability rates. This will make local businesses and entrepreneurs more involved with the young citizens of the city and raise the employability rates for creative youth.
